Mongolia - Desert

I’m back! Got to apologize for my extremely long absence. Life in China has been jammed pack with various activities and assignments, so much so that I couldn’t really sit down to update this journal. During this long period, I have been doing a lot of traveling, a mad rush to finish my design project and doing tons of shopping and visiting. So to those that have been complaining that I fail to update my journal, here’s a continuation of my travels in the first week in China (haha, still stuck at first week). I’m slipping this in before of an important essay submission. :)

Along the way to our next destination, we came across fields of sunflowers. This really made me wonder why have I been paying tons for them back at home. They are all so pretty radiating happiness under the temperate sun.

And without warning, the sunflowers gave way to sparse grass and barren landscapes.

Behold! the mighty desert!

It was real wonder to see the green suddenly give way to the endless eons of sand. And the first time in my life, the horizon was composed of sand and not seawater.

Base camp

Sandsocks - Walkability + 10 Bug Resistance + 20 Agility -100

We came from the other side...

Oh my god! What the hell is Sam doing?

There must be some bloodline relation with PCK somehow...

Grassland = horses
desert = ?
Yup.... Camels

Though its hell alot of fun, But let me tell you, I prefer the quick pain in the butt on the horses then the slow pain from camels.

There goes SiQi again posing for the camera. ha ha

This is definately the mother of all sand castles...

The National Geographic worthy shot!

By the end of the day, everyone was blind from the sand winds and scorched by the burning sun. There are various activities in the desert such as dune coasters, human bowling across the desert, etc. Here's a group photo of us guys with the thais, the koreans and the Singaporeans. No Cheenas!

What a great way to end the day with a Sand Slide back! Though I look like a tiny speck, trust me, its over in a blink of an eye.

Sunset.

Samura! Campfire again!

The guy in thick grey coat is Sam, the lady in his front is Siqi and the guy taking this shot is myself.

It was a fine exclamation to the end of the journey in the desert. Though its awfully cold in the night, the performers were naked. However, their friendliness warmed our hearts and we danced around the fire to the beat that just went on and on and on...
